In Europe Germany is one of the largest populations in Europe with a population of over 82 million. This makes Germany a powerful commercial force, and it is no surprise that it is now also the largest consumer of cell phones in Europe too. According to the 2009 statistics on cell phone ownership – Germany is 8th largest in the World. With over 107 million cell phones in use in Germany, much more than the actual population. Meaning around 30% of the population own at least 2 cell phones.

Germany Telecoms
With the telecom market in Germany being supported by one of the largest and wealthy countries in Europe. Evidence of this shows where Germanys Cell Phone and Telecoms sector had a turnover of around 63 billion euros in 2008. The telecoms sector in Germany overall expects to stagnate for a few years, however, the local operators are expected to lose some footground, while the mobile telephony will aid in maintaining these high figures.

Germany Cell Phones Shift Focus
The Germany Cell Phone market has featured a shift among its userbase from 2G to UMTS networks. Operators have followed this trend by upgrading their networks with HSDPA technology, and are looking to LTE for the future. Deutsche Telekom is Germanys main teleco and one of Europes major telcos. Germany has 4 competing cell phone standards: D1/2, e-plus and E2 – all being GSM based. In America cell phones use several different major digital systems from CDMA, TDMA, and PCS, to name just a few. If all of these anacronyms are making your head hurt then you’ll want to make sure you’re given easy options for using a cell phone in Germany.

What Does This Mean For US Citizens?
American/US Citizens traveling to Germany will want to make sure they’re equipped for the journey. Buying a GSM cell phone that will work across all the major networks of Germany is an important factor in making a smooth transition between America and Germany. With cell phones in Germany being such a major feature you’ll want to make sure you have a way of staying in touch, both with any locals if you’re doing business there, or back to the US if you’re missing home.

It was constructed between 1965 and 1969 with the intension to be a symbol of Berlin. With visibility by all in the central and several other districts of Berlin the Fernsehturm is Germanys tallest structure at 368m. This lofty height also puts it as the 2nd tallest in the whole of Europe. The lift to the top takes a mere 40 seconds, and once you get up there don’t forget to call a friend to tell them about the amazing view.

Built as a joint venture of experts between Sweden and Germany the Fernsehturm consists of a 250m-high reinforced concrete shaft topped by a stainless steel sphere, divided into seven stories. The tower also rotates and takes roughly 30 minutes to go around.

Germany is a tourists dream featuring inexhaustible variety and an ever changing pattern of scenery extending from the sea to the mountains.
Known as the Federal Republic of Germany, Germany is the continent's most industrialized and populous country.. will your US cell phone work here?

Germany: a country in Central Europe known for the Brandenburg Gate and Schloss Neuschwanstein. Also known as the Federal Republic of Germany, Germany is the continent’s most industrialized and populous country. Its central situation within Europe gives it the most common frontiers with other countries than any other state in Europe. The North Sea, Denmark, the Baltic Sea border it’s North. Poland and the Czech Republic to the East. To the south by Austria and Switzerland, and to the west by France, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Germany has a population of over 82 million over its 357,022 square kilometres ranks it 55th in the World for population density. Giving it great expanses of land to travel over uninhabited yet enjoying a temperate seasonal climate. Germany is also home to the third-largest number of international migrants worldwide, which gives it a diverse culture and exciting area to tour and travel. The country is also famous for its technological achievements, it has also produced some of Europe’s most celebrated composers, philosophers and poets.

But for us American tourists, business travelers and adventurers is that the cell phone we take to Germany may not work at all. With the US having a major dispute with Europe over a universal mobile telephone standard. While Europe, and Germany too, has united under the GSM system, our US and Canadian telecommunications divisions have battled between CDMA, TDMA, and MORE-Eh type standards. While the politics and money orientated struggle continues, the American and Canadian public suffer being sold all of these US triangles unfit for the European circle.

It is a relic of the 15th century medieval city fortifications and a symbol of the German city.

The museum houses located on the site act as a presentation of life and work of a Lubeck merchant in the late Middle Ages. The merchant left its mark on the city’s economic, cultural and social life.

If you’re traveling to Lubeck or anywhere in Germany from the US you’ll want to make sure your cell phone is working for when you reach Holsten Gate. If you want to make sure you own a cell phone which will work in Germany, will have 1 flat rate for calls, has all the menus in American, and will be yours to own for life then Buy your European Cell phone solution now.

Visited by 30,000 people every day, the cathedral is a World Heritage Site. It is also one of the best-known architectural monuments in Germany, and by far Cologne’s most famous landmark. The Catherdral is dedicated to Saint Peter and the Blessed Virgin Mary. It was planned to act as a shrine for the Three Kings and as a place of worship to the Holy Roman Emperor.

Construction began in 1248 and took until 1880 to complete, which was plagued by interuptions, and was left incomplete during the medieval period. The cathedral is still 1 of the largest churches in the World and the largest Gothic church in North Europe. Though between 1880 and 1884 was the tallest man made building in the world.
